Arizona's New Booster Seat Law Starts Today 8/2/2012



Beginning today Aug. 2, Arizona'snew booster seat law goes into effect which will require children younger than 8 years old or less than 4 feet, 9 inches tall to sit in a proper child safety seat, such as a booster seat, when riding in a vehicle.  Violation of the amended law is a primary offense and carries a fine of $50.

*You can get a FREE Booster Seat this Saturday 8/4 at Grand Canyon University in their Arena between 10 am and 2 pm.  Supplies are limited so you will want to get there early.  
*Native Health is also giving FREE car seats at 4520 N. Central Ave., Covered Parking Garage, Phoenix, AZ 85012 (602) 279-5262; FREE Booster Seats available at their “Booster Bash” – Saturday August 4th from 8 to 10 a.m. Please bring your child and a vehicle. 
*If you are in Pima county, you can get a Free Booster Seat during designated hours at immunization clinics - see HERE for details  
*If you are in Yuma, the Yuma County Public Health District is hosting a series of informational classes at the Main Library (2951 S. 21st Drive) and the Health District Building (2200 W. 28th St.). these classes are 15 minutes and attendees are entitled to a Free Booster Seat.  Please call ahead at 928-317-4580 – seating is limited.
