1. They buy into the 10 for $10 myth. Newbie coupon clippers think they actually have to buy 10 items to get the 10 for $10 price. 99% of the time, you can buy one item and get the 10/$10 price. It's a store trick, and novices fall for it all of the time.
2. They clip a coupon and use it immediately. We all love getting the instant gratification of the clip and save-thrill, but seasoned couponers know to hold onto coupons as long as possible (but within the expiration period.) Grocery stores usually delay sales on newly released coupons because they know that most people will use the coupon as soon as they clip it. Don't fall for it!
3. They waste time clipping coupons. You don't have to clip coupons like your grandmother did, taking entire afternoons to wade through dirty newspapers. Online grocery coupons like the ones we have in our printable grocery coupon section make it so easy to click and save – rather than clip and save! Plus, you can search for the item you're shopping for and don't necessarily have to store a pile of coupons that you may or may not use.
